With so many huge lotteries played around the world by players who buy lottery tickets at the shops, lottery syndicate members and online lotto players plus with so many world lotteries to choose from, it’s understandable why some lotteries aren’t giving away the huge jackpots that they have in the past. However the 2010 Mega Millions jackpots are just ahead of last year, even with Powerball Lottery tickets being sold in many Mega Millions states.
Until recently, the Powerball Lottery and Mega Millions Lottery had their own exclusive states and in which they could sell lottery tickets but a change in the rules has seen many states and territories start to sell both Mega Millions and Powerball tickets.

Many observers believed that the sale of Powerball Lottery tickets in the same states as Mega Millions tickets and vice versa may have led to one of these two huge multi-state lotteries taking customers from the other but this doesn’t appear to be the case just yet. Both of the US’ interstate lotteries are trading well in the face of the new competition.
Last year the Mega Millions had awarded $575.8 million by the 15th of May. This year the Mega Millions lottery has awarded $564 million in jackpots with another $31 million up for grabs on Friday, that’s $595 million in Mega Millions jackpots in 2010 so far.
