For nearly half a year a Virginia woman had been a lucky winning Mega Millions ticket holder without realising. The fortunate lottery winner found her winning ticket after seeing a news report saying that somebody in her area was still to step forward to receive their $250,000 prize. Lydia Burke of Mechanicsville, Virginia had a winning lottery ticket for the Mega Millions tucked away in a napkin holder in her kitchen and was completely unaware if it’s value until she saw a lottery news story saying that a Mega Millions ticket purchased at the local 7-Eleven was about to expire. The winning lottery numbers for the Mega Millions draw in question were 10, 15, 24, 38, 50 and the Mega Ball number was 19. The ticket was set to expire at 5:00 p.m. on September the 24th, just 8 hours from when Mrs Burke claimed her lottery windfall.
