The Mega Millions lottery hadn’t been won for fourteen draws and the multiple-rollover jackpot had grown to a massive $333 million, the fourth largest lottery jackpot in North American history. However last night two lucky ticket holders shared the Mega Millions jackpot after matching five numbers and the Mega Ball.
The winning numbers for last nights’ Mega Millions draw were 1, 17, 31, 37 and 54 and the Mega Ball was 31. One of the lucky lottery winners of this giant jackpot purchased their ticket in the Bronx, New York and the other ticket was sold in San Gabriel, California. It can take a bit of time for the lottery winners to come forward so it may be a while before we uncover these to lucky lottery winners’ identities.
Lottery ticket sellers said that they’ve seen a big increase in ticket sales over the last week with some sellers saying that people are buying up to $50 worth of tickets at a time. One ticket seller on the lower East Side, New York said that one man had bought $100 worth of Mega Millions tickets in one go.
