Wales is to receive lottery cash for two major projects over the coming months. There will be lottery funding for elderly people in Wales and also for Wales’ heritage industry.

The elderly in Wales are to be supported by a massive £20 million grant from the UK National Lottery. The lottery funding will be used to tackle to problem of social isolation for the elderly of Wales with various projects which either encourage befriending or social interaction for elderly people in Wales. This great lottery news for Wales’ elderly is boosted by the announcement that Gavin and Stacey actress Margaret John will be helping to launch the scheme in Port Talbot and will also be an ambassador for the National Lottery project.

There will also be a £1.3 million boost for the Welsh heritage industry which will be used to bridge skills gaps identified by museums, libraries and visitor attractions in Wales.
