On Friday the Canadian Lotto Max jackpot went unclaimed for a third week in-a-row but unlike the EuroMillions Lottery or US Powerball Lottery, the Canadian Lotto Max draw jackpot doesn’t simply climb and climb until it finds a winner. This means that there’s a $105 million Lotto Max jackpot to play for in this weeks draw.

Rather than the jackpot continuing to grow and grow until it’s won, the Lotto Max draw caps at $50 million with any further prize money in the jackpot pool being divided into individual $1 million jackpots which are drawn for separately. For example, if the jackpot prize pool rolled over to be worth $60 million then there would be a $50 million jackpot draw then ten further $1 million draws which use the exact same format for drawing lottery numbers.

So on Friday night there will be a $50 million Lotto Max plus 55 individual $1 million draws taking place too and if the mighty jackpot doesn’t get won there will be even more additional $1 million Lotto Max draws the following week.

To play the Max Millions Lottery you must choose seven numbers from 1 to 49 and wait for the draw. If you match all seven main lottery numbers you will win a share of the jackpot, then just like the UK National Lottery there are lower tier prizes awarded for matching three main lottery numbers all the way up to the second prize for matching six main lottery numbers plus the Bonus Ball.

Another lottery which has a huge jackpot to play for is the US Powerball Lottery which has a $97 million jackpot to play for but you don’t have to wait until Friday to play Powerball. You can buy online lotto tickets for the Wednesday night Powerball Lottery draw by clicking the playlink above.
