Gareth and Catherine Bull have started 2012 in style with a £41 million Euromillions jackpot. The Nottinghamshire couple scooped a massive £40,627,241 on Friday 20th January but have no plans to quit work or move out of the six bedroom dream home self employed builder Gareth built for them in Mansfield. The lucky pair’s good fortune was a total fluke after Mr Bull bought the winning Euromillions ticket on a whim after he was unable to work one day because of the terrible weather.

During the press conference where they received their cheque 35 year old Catherine Bull who works in health insurance revealed that she has no dreams of spending a fortune on a new wardrobe as she hates shopping but does plan on splashing out for a new carpet for their landing because the current one makes her too ashamed to let anyone upstairs. The Euromillions winner went on to say she could think of nothing worse then going shopping “I have never been much of a shopper and I can’t see that changing now. I already have home food delivery from Tesco because I hate shopping”.

The couple are still in shock and have not even told their two sons about their Euromillions win insisting that Declan aged nine has always told them off for buying tickets in the past because he thought they were a “waste of money”. Mr Bull said they may consider buying a home abroad and treating the family to a holiday in Florida but he will most definitely be getting a box at Old Trafford to watch his beloved Manchester United.

They went on to explain that they also want to support charities with their new found wealth and in particular Breast Cancer Research after Mr Bulls’ more Edith suffered from the disease five years ago.
