Feathered friend buying tickets for the lottery

Staff, punters and passers by at a betting shop in Bradford had their feathers ruffled when they saw a goose sat in the shop window. But what was it doing there? Backing a nag in the 3:15 at Aintree or maybe this feathered friend was buying tickets for the lottery?

The confused Canadian Goose somehow ended up in the shop window of a Ladbrokes betting shop in Bradford earlier this week. The bird, which was obviously distressed was eventually coaxed from the window by shop Ladbrokes employees who gave it food and water. The staff then called the RSPCA who promptly dispatched assistance. It is suspected that the disorientated bird had hurt it’s wing and had taken refuge in the shop. Betting shop manager Steven Cranston said the goose was scared of passers by outside and had come into the shop to seek refuge from them. He continued by joking “It’s come in to put an Irish lottery bet on. The bird continued to keep staff and punters amused until after lunch when RSPCA officers transported it to a nearby veterinary surgery.

People from all walks of life use betting shops to wager on many batting activities from horse and greyhound racing to sweepstakes and lotteries across the world but never before have I heard of a goose having a flutter! So was our feathered friend buying tickets for the lottery or did it have an insider tip on a dead-cert? We’ll never know.

One thing we do know is that you can buy tickets for many lotteries across the globe right here at Online-Lotto. If only the poor goose knew that, it could have saved itself a trip to Bradford.
