Last night the National Lottery continued the trend of giving away its two or three million pound jackpot to multiple lottery winners. Four ticket holders matched all six main lottery numbers to win a share of the £2.2 million jackpot meaning that once again the National Lottery jackpot winners got less than a million each. In fact, last night’s winners will only receive just over half a million each.

The UK National Lottery has awarded its top prize winners less than £1 million each three times in the last month, prompting questions about the draw and how it is made. In stark contrast, the US Powerball Lottery has given away a $211 million jackpot to one lucky ticket holder this month alone.

The Wednesday night National Lottery draw had a £2,223,516 jackpot up for grabs but as it was shared by four ticket holders each player will only receive £555,879 each. In many cases this isn’t enough to even buy a house and a car. Imagine how you would feel if you saw your six lottery numbers drawn only to find that your payout will barely cover your mortgage? The lottery numbers selected during last night’s National Lottery draw were; 3, 5, 23, 28, 42 and 49 with the Bonus Ball being drawn as 41.

Last night’s Irish Lottery had a £7,122,710 jackpot to play for but as nobody managed to match all six main lottery numbers the jackpot rolls over to the Saturday night draw. Last night’s Irish Lottery numbers are; 2, 8, 11, 29, 36 and 41 with the Bonus Ball being drawn as 5.

The US Powerball Lottery had a $43 million jackpot just waiting to be won last night but just like the Irish Lottery the Powerball Lottery rolled over too. This means that Saturday night’s Powerball draw has an estimated jackpot of $60 million.
