One lucky player from somewhere in the UK has scooped last night’s Euromillions jackpot which reached an incredible £81 / €95 million after rolling over eight times. As of yet, there is no information regarding the identity of the player, however there is copious news regarding their new found wealth.

This jackpot, which is the sixth biggest ever won in the UK, would put a single winner into joint 908th place on the Rich List – just below businessman Duncan Bannatyne (who has a fortune of £85 million) and alongside actor Sir Sean Connery (with £80 million). It also works out as the same as combined fortunes of Cheryl Cole (£12 million), Jessie J (£5 million), Princes William and Harry (£28 million between them), Kiera Knightley (£30 million) and Lily Allen (£6 million).

However, there is every chance this jackpot could have been won by a syndicate of players. It if is, this would be the largest syndicate win in the UK in its history, with the previous largest win being £38 / €45 million, which was shared by 12 bus drivers from Corby, Northamptonshire in March 2012.

Meanwhile, this latest news has prompted another recent Euromillions winner to come forward. A 67 year old pensioner from Seine-et-Marne, France, won the biggest jackpot this year of €132 million (£112 million) on 29th March 2013, and although he wishes to remain anonymous, he has recently given his first interview to French media. With his winnings, which came from a random Lucky Dip ticket purchased using the last 2 euros in change in his pocket, he plans to buy a luxury French-made car, take his wife to India and invest in setting up a home for the elderly.

What would our UK winner do with their cash? If they don’t come forward and go public with their good fortune, we may never know!
