A massive £1 million EuroMillions prize has gone unclaimed and as of 5:30pm on Thursday the money can no longer be claimed because the 90 day window to collect EuroMillions prizes has now passed.
The missing winning EuroMillions ticket was bought from Doran’s Supervalue store in Graiguenamanagh, Ireland over the May bank holiday weekend but no lucky winner came forward to claim the massive prize. All EuroMillions prizes have 90 days in which to be claimed otherwise the prize money is returned to the EuroMillions fund which and is added to future promotional draws.
It is extremely unusual for lottery prizes of this size to go unclaimed in Ireland with just 12 big money prizes not being collected since 1988. Last year in Ireland over £15m in prizes went unclaimed and was returned to the fund for other lucky players to win.
There has been much publicity regarding this huge £1 million EuroMillions prize that has gone unclaimed prize but nobody came forward to put an end to the mystery. As the ticket was bought over the bank holiday it is thought that the missing ticket’s owner may have been a tourist passing through who had lost their ticket.
