Last week we bought you details about the mystery surrounding the massive Euromillions rollover that had sat unclaimed since it was won on Friday 8th October despite a Co-Op worker from Sunderland posting a photograph of a supposedly winning ticket on Facebook and claiming to be the lucky winner. It turns out this was just one of many fake claims received by Camelot including over one thousand from players who insisted they had lost the winning ticket but we can now confirm that the real winner has stepped forward and the Euromillions rollover paid out.

A couple from East Lothian in Scotland used a National Lottery winning formula to not only scoop a £2 million share of the jackpot but also win six further prizes at the same time. Brian and Ann Sharp devised the lottery winning formula while betting on greyhounds but the formula was adapted to make the lucky couple extra cash when playing the lottery.

The Wednesday night UK National Lottery draw had a lower than expected £1,580,124 jackpot to play for, possibly due to the England World Cup game against Slovenia. However, when seven players matched all six main lottery numbers it was to be pocket change for last night’s lottery winners, with each jackpot winner taking home just £225,732.
