Southampton City Council is proposing to use lottery money for a Titanic museum. A new maritime museum has been in the pipeline for quite a while now with various proposals put forward but following a £4.6 million grant from Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) the new maritime museum is starting to become a reality.
National Lottery Good Causes funds boosted by cash from dormant bank accounts

Money from dormant bank accounts and savings accounts is to be seized by the UK Government and distributed via the various National Lottery Good Causes funds. The Good Causes funds are usually supplied with money from the National Lottery’s various games and draws and are used to support local and national projects around Britain but now the National Lottery Good Causes funds are to be boosted by cash from dormant bank accounts.
Lottery grant for Giants Causeway

The National Trust has secured £3 million in funding from the National Lottery’s Heritage Lottery Fund to assist in the building of a new, state of the art visitors centre at Giants Causeway in Northern Ireland. The £3 million lottery grant for Giants Causeway from the Heritage Lottery Fund will kick-start the £18 project, with work due to start as soon as May this year.
Lottery grant for Museum of Cardiff

The Heritage Lottery Fund has awarded a £440,000 lottery grant to the Museum of Cardiff. The Museum of Cardiff will be a new dedicated city museum which will tell the story of Cardiff rich history. It has been 85 years since Cardiff last dedicated city museum closed its doors but thanks to National Lottery cash a new exhibition will be displayed in Cardiff’s Victorian grade II listed Old Library building.
National Lottery funds to repair Truro Cathedral

The Heritage Lottery Fund is to use National Lottery funds to repair Truro Cathedral, as the Cornish cathedral currently has much unsafe stonework and without assistance from the Lottery Heritage Fund could have fallen into a state disrepair. But thankfully the Diocese of Truro can now undertake the much-needed repairs thanks to a £400,000 grant from the National Lottery.
