In the 15 years that the National Lottery has operated in the UK it has generated over £23 billion worth of funding for various good causes across the UK. These lottery grants have been given to a wide range of good causes from local community projects to huge ambitious schemes like the restoration of the Mary Rose. Over the last few weeks there have been many lives of UK lottery players which have been changed forever. We have seen dozens of new UK lottery millionaires made in recent weeks and last night was no exception. Only yesterday we brought you the news that the state of Iowa is to introduce ticket sales of the Mega Millions multi-state lottery from the beginning of next year and now it looks like yet another US state is to start selling both Powerball and Mega Millions lottery tickets. If all goes well and there are no complications Powerball tickets will be sold in Texas from the start of next year.

For years we have heard rumours of a truly national US lottery as opposed to the two main lotteries that, up until recently, operated in their own exclusive states and territories. However changes are taking place in the US, which has seen a recent change to this structure. A vote by the Iowa Lottery on Monday means that Mega Millions tickets will be sold in Iowa, a state which used to exclusively sell Powerball lottery tickets.
Lottery kiosk owner halted robbery

A lottery kiosk owner from India foiled an attempted armed robbery as he was closing his store for the night. Three men attempted to force their way into his shop to rob him but found the lottery kiosk owner less then submissive. The lottery kiosk owner halted the robbery and sent the thieves on their way empty handed.
